I am grateful to live, work and play in the water, on the land, and through the forests that are the unceded traditional territory of the K'omoks, Eiksan and Pentlatch people, the keepers of the land of plenty.

Welcome to NWN! My name is Jamie and I am the everything behind Northwest By Nature. I am a teacher by day and entrepreneur by night. During covid I started this business as a creative outlet. It combines some of my loves that bring me wellness and joy - art and nature. Through NWN I hope to inspire little people and big people people to notice the natural beauty around them, to gain the benefits from being in it, and to help protect it. I draw unique west coast inspired art and share it as wearable art and home goods. My apparel is top quality, but more importantly both ethically and sustainably made.

Thank you for your support!

THE ART

My creative brain is always playing with elements of art and looking at nature through the lens of fine art. I enjoy working with different mediums from paint to wood to fabric and always seem to have some sort of craft project on the go. I like working with my hands and gaining new skills.

THE NATURE

Having grown up in Whistler, B.C., I am a mountain girl at heart, They call to me and they are my happy place. Especially the snow covered ones. I now feel so fortunate to live, work, and play in the beautiful Comox Valley on Vancouver Island, B.C. I draw inspiration from the surrounding forests, beaches, ocean, mountains, lakes and wildlife a plenty. I love watching the changes each season brings and crave my escapes into the wilds of the Pacific North West.

THE FASHION

Fit and feel are key components of a great garment. Keeping the environmental impact of the clothing industry in mind, I have sourced garments that are not only super cozy and flattering, but are also both ethically made and made using an eco-friendly process. Local screen printing is done through the Wachiay Studio who use water-based inks and support local social enterprises.
